Get Creative About Parenting Support Lounge

Child Development

Let's face it, Parenting classes and groups can be boring with quite a lot of complaining and moaning. We get it. Your parents were your first teachers and some of them didn't quite do the best job, so you really want to learn to do better. Or maybe your parents were great, but your spouse or parenting partner just isn't on the same page with you. This is finally a group where Moms & Dads can get creative together (or come on your own!) and explore visually the ins and outs of child development and how it affects behavior.

You'll learn the science of what is happening in your kids' brains and also just why they know how to push all the right buttons. We'll take some time to learn a bit, and then have time to share together what works and what doesn't work in a positive, strength-based way. Led by a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (who is also a parent and had 4 siblings) with many years under her belt — not a volunteer with just a bit of quick training. Bring your toughest questions about behavior, social skills, bedtime, school problems, mealtime drama, sibling rivalry, whatever. We get it. You'll exchange stress reduction tips, frustration coping skills and even make a friend or two along the way. What you do now will set them (and you) up for not only today, but for how they relate to others and handle stress themselves for many years to come.

  • Please note: As there is no childcare or safe waiting area on-site, we can not accommodate you bringing children to this group. Please make this a special respite time for yourself and make childcare arrangements for your group.

  • If you think a private individual or family session of your own may be more helpful, contact me today for a free 20 minute consultation and we'll find you the right form of help for your situation.

Finding a safe place to be with others who "get" what you are going through is not always easy. I bring together like-minded people working on similar struggles for support, guidance and healing. Because these groups are carefully curated for the best possible helpful experience, you must give a call for an intake interview to be admitted to a support group at The Limbic Lounge.

Please know there may be a waiting list for some groups for a couple months, so please call today for availability or to reserve your spot.
